Porta Potty Rental Questions and Straight Answers
These porta potty rental questions come from real calls to our phone desk, cleaned up and answered in plain words. Find your topic below, or call Jack at (432) 239-8885 for anything not covered here.
Same-day cutoff is 12:00 PM Mon–Sat (Central)
Pricing
A standard porta potty starts at $175 for an event of up to 3 days, or $155 per 28-day cycle with weekly service. Both prices are pre-tax. Texas sales tax of 8.25% is added on the itemized quote. Jack Rental Works charges no fuel surcharge and no card fee on any rental.
Our porta potty rental cost guide has every unit price, zone charge, and three worked totals.
Is there a one-day price for a basic unit?
There is no 1-day price. The event price starts at $175 pre-tax and covers up to 3 days on site. So a 1-day party and a 3-day weekend cost the same.
What does a month cost, and does the rate change after month one?
A standard unit starts at $155 per 28-day cycle with weekly service. Every cycle after the first is the same rate. The one-time delivery charge is billed only on the first cycle.
Is that the total with tax and everything? Are there any other fees?
The texted quote shows the full total. It lists the unit, days, service, delivery, pickup, 8.25% tax, and any extra you picked. If a fee is not on the quote, you do not pay it.
Do I have to pay by the day, or for the whole rental period?
You pay for the rental period. An event rental is one price for up to 3 days, plus a daily rate for extra days. A long-term rental is billed every 28 days.
If I get a second one, does the price go down?
Not at 2 units. At 5 or more units on one event order, each unit drops $10. Delivery outside Zone 1 is charged per trip, so extra units on the same truck add no trip charge.
How much more is a flushing unit than a standard one?
The deluxe flushing unit with a sink starts at $275 per event, or $245 per 28-day cycle. That is $100 more per event than a standard unit, and $90 more per cycle.
Is there a discount for nonprofits, churches or veterans?
We keep one price list for everyone, so nobody pays more than the next caller. Groups save with the 5-unit discount, a 28-day rental for repeat weekends, or standard units plus a hand-washing station.
Why does 28 days cost about the same as one weekend?
An event rental includes free delivery in Zone 1, set-up, and a pump-out in a short window. A 28-day rental spreads one trip and weekly service over 4 weeks. The result is a standard unit at $155 per cycle versus $175 per event.
Can you just give me a ballpark? I don't need an official quote yet.
Sure. Tell Jack the town, the dates, and the head count, and you get a number on the call. We still text it, because a written total is easier to compare.
Can one quote show two setups side by side?
Yes. Ask for both, such as 4 standard units versus a 2-stall restroom trailer. Both show up on one text with separate totals.
What costs less than a restroom trailer for a big party?
Several standard units plus a hand-washing station. For 150 guests over 4 hours, 3 standard units and 1 station start at $635 pre-tax in Zone 1. A deluxe flushing unit with a sink sits in between.
Delivery and timing
Order by 12:00 PM Monday through Saturday for same-day delivery in Zones 1 and 2. The same-day rush fee is $75 per trip, not per unit. Orders after noon arrive the next morning with no rush fee. Delivery runs 7 AM to 7 PM, and the driver calls 30 to 60 minutes ahead.
Our water is shut off at the house. How fast can a unit get here?
Call us right away at (432) 239-8885. In Midland and Odessa, a call before noon gets a unit the same day for the $75 rush fee. Water outages and failed well pumps are some of the most common urgent calls we get.
Another vendor stood us up. Can you still make it today?
Yes, if you reach us by noon Mon–Sat and the site is in Zone 1 or 2. Text the address or a pin while you are on the phone, and Jack puts you on the next truck out.
Do you drop off the day before or the day of?
Either. Most event units arrive the day before, so nobody waits on a truck during set-up. The event price covers up to 3 days on site, so an early drop costs nothing extra.
Can you drop it off the morning of the event?
Yes. Ask for a morning drop when you book. For a set time, a 1-hour delivery window you choose costs $45.
The event starts at 6 pm. Can it come at 4?
Yes. Book a timed window of 3 to 4 PM for $45, or take a free drop earlier in the day or the day before.
What time is the same-day order cutoff?
Noon, Monday through Saturday. Orders after 12:00 PM arrive the next morning, Mon–Sat, with no rush fee.
Can I rent a unit for just a few hours?
Yes, but the price is the same as a full event rental. The shortest rental covers up to 3 days on site, so a 4-hour use and a 3-day use cost the same.
Can you deliver to a park, cemetery or lease with no street address? Can I send a pin?
Yes. Text a map pin with the order. For a lease, add the lease name and gate directions. Public parks may need City approval for big events, so check with the City first.
How fast can you reach Lamesa, Pecos, or Hobbs?
Those are Zone 3 towns, about 50 to 110 miles out. Delivery is next-day standard, with a $95 trip charge. Same-day only works if a truck is already routed that way, so ask.
Need a unit today?
Call (432) 239-8885 before noon Mon–Sat for same-day delivery in Zones 1 and 2.
Units
Jack Rental Works rents 8 kinds of units. The list runs from a standard porta potty and a deluxe flushing unit with a sink to a wheelchair-accessible unit, a 2-sink hand-washing station, and a towable job-site unit. We also rent 3 restroom trailers: a VIP single suite, a 2-stall, and a 3-stall.
Do you rent a fancy restroom with A/C and real flushing toilets?
Yes. Our VIP single-suite trailer and our 2-stall and 3-stall restroom trailers have flushing toilets, running-water sinks, lights, and A/C. The VIP suite starts at $695 for 1 to 2 days.
Is there a porta potty with a sink built in?
Yes. The deluxe flushing unit has a foot-pump sink with about 20 gallons of fresh water, plus soap, paper towels, and a mirror. About 1 in 10 callers ask for this unit.
Is there a sink inside the wheelchair-accessible unit?
No. Our wheelchair-accessible unit is designed to ADA dimensions, but it has no sink inside. Pair it with a hand-washing station on level ground nearby.
Can we have separate men's and women's restrooms?
Yes. Our 2-stall and 3-stall restroom trailers have separate men's and women's doors. With porta potties, you can also label 2 standard units with signs.
What trailer sizes can we pick from?
We rent 3 sizes. The VIP trailer is 1 private room. The 2-stall trailer serves about 150 guests for 6 hours, and the 3-stall about 250, per manufacturer tank ratings.
What hookups does a restroom trailer need?
Yes. A restroom trailer needs a standard 20-amp 110V outlet within 100 feet and a garden-hose spigot. No outlet? A generator add-on starts at $95 per day.
Do we have to hook a hose to the flushing unit?
No. The deluxe flushing unit carries its own fresh-water tank and uses foot pumps. It needs no water line and no power. It gives about 75 to 100 flushes per fill.
Is there a light inside? Our party runs until midnight.
Standard and deluxe units have no electric light. The translucent roof lets daylight in. For a late party, set a string light or lantern outside, or rent a restroom trailer with LED lights.
Are they nice, not beat up? Can you text me a picture of the inside?
Yes. Ask on the call and Jack texts a photo of the unit type you are renting. Every unit leaves the yard clean and stocked.
How big are the tanks?
A standard unit has a 60-gallon waste tank. A hand-washing station holds about 36 gallons of fresh water. The deluxe unit holds about 20 gallons of fresh water for flushing and the sink.
Servicing and supplies
Every 28-day rental gets 1 service visit per week, included in the price. Event units arrive clean and stocked with 2 or more toilet-paper rolls and hand sanitizer, and get pumped at pickup. Extra service visits cost $65 per unit. Twice-weekly service on a 28-day rental adds $60 per cycle per unit.
Who supplies the toilet paper?
We supply it. Every unit comes with 2 or more rolls and hand sanitizer. Deluxe units also get seat liners, soap, and paper towels.
Can you clean them nightly during a multi-day event?
Yes. Each mid-event visit is $65 per unit, and we schedule it Monday through Saturday. We recommend a mid-event visit for events over 3 days or with 250 or more guests.
Can a long-term unit go without weekly service?
No. Weekly service is part of every 28-day rental. A full tank in West Texas heat turns bad fast, and weekly service keeps the unit usable for the whole crew.
How many uses before it needs servicing?
The manufacturer rates a standard unit at about 200 uses between services. Heat, heavy use, and alcohol at events lower that number in practice.
Who actually does the pumping and cleaning?
We do it ourselves. Our own techs pump, clean, and restock with our own trucks. Waste is hauled to a permitted disposal facility.
What changes in summer heat?
Midland highs often run 95 to 105°F from June through August. Heat speeds odor, so we recommend twice-weekly service for crews of 10 or more in summer.
What happens in freezing weather?
In freezing weeks, we add non-toxic antifreeze to toilet tanks. Hand-washing station water can freeze below 28°F overnight, so we may swap stations for sanitizer dispensers.
Placement and access
A standard porta potty needs a flat spot and a clear path about 5 feet wide from the truck. The truck needs a path about 10 feet wide to get near. Every unit is staked or strapped against wind. You do not need to be home if the spot is marked with a cone, flag, or chalk X.
Will a unit fit through a backyard gate?
Usually, yes. A standard unit is 43.5 inches wide and fits through a 48-inch gate, but the crew needs about 5 feet of clear path. Tell us about steps, slopes, or soft ground.
Can it go in the parking lot or inside a fenced area?
Yes. A paved lot is a great spot. For a fenced yard or lot, leave the gate open or text the code before delivery day.
Can we keep strangers out of the unit?
Yes. A combination lock is free on request. We set the code and text the code to you. Locks help a lot with units in parks and open lots.
Can you stake it down so it doesn't blow over in the wind?
We already do. Every unit is staked or strapped. Midland spring gusts often pass 40 mph, so tell us if the spot is wide open.
Do I need a permit to put it on the street?
Usually yes in Midland. A unit in a public street, alley, or sidewalk generally needs City approval. On private property, a permit is usually not needed.
Do I need the property manager's OK?
Yes, get the owner's or manager's OK first. HOAs may limit how long a unit sits in view, so beside the garage or behind a fence works best.
How do we give guests privacy? Should it go under a canopy?
Set units off to the side, with doors facing away from the crowd. Avoid tight tents, since the roof vent and translucent roof need open air and light.
Construction and oilfield
Job sites rent on a 28-day cycle with weekly service included, starting at $155 per standard unit. Our crew rule is 1 unit per 10 workers on a 40-hour week. We deliver to drilling pads, frac sites, pipeline crews, and yards across the Permian Basin, with no lease-road surcharge unless a 4x4 tow is needed.
What's your process for a monthly job-site rental?
Call with the site, crew size, and start date. We text a quote, deliver with a call-ahead, and service the unit weekly. Call or text when the job ends. Our construction site toilet page covers job-site details.
We don't know how long we'll need it. Can we go month to month?
Yes. A 28-day rental renews on its own until you call for pickup. After the first full cycle, billing is prorated by the day you ask.
What does OSHA require for my crew?
OSHA 1926.51 Table D-1 calls for 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers, then 1 seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. Our porta potty sizing guide shows the full table. This is not legal advice.
Can I send you the scope and get a quote back?
Yes. Use the quote form or text the scope to (432) 239-8885. Web requests get an answer within 1 business hour.
I'm still bidding. Can you quote now and book if we win?
Yes. We text a quote now for your bid. Call back when you win the job, and we book delivery for your start date.
Can the unit follow our crew to a job in another town?
Yes. We pick up from one site and set at the next. The new site's zone sets the delivery charge on the quote.
Do you rent a toilet we can tow down the right-of-way?
Yes. Our towable job-site unit is a standard stall on a small tow trailer. It starts at $295 per 28-day cycle and suits pipeline, road, and fence crews.
Can you deliver to a frac pad or a lease with locked gates?
Yes. Send the lease name, a GPS pin, and gate codes or combos. Caliche roads and cattle guards are normal for our trucks.
Billing and terms
Event rentals are paid in full at booking by card or ACH. A 28-day rental is paid at delivery for the first cycle and then billed every 28 days. Jack Rental Works takes no deposit. Contractors can apply for Net-30 invoicing. An optional damage waiver costs $9 per unit per rental or cycle.
Full details are in our rental terms and cancellation policy.
Do you do monthly billing or invoicing?
Yes. A 28-day rental auto-bills every 28 days. Contractors with an approved Net-30 account get invoiced instead.
When do you charge the card?
An event rental is charged at booking. A 28-day rental is charged at delivery, then every 28 days on the same weekday.
Do we pay up front or when it's delivered?
Events are paid up front at booking. Long-term rentals are paid at delivery for the first 28-day cycle.
Can I change dates after booking?
Yes. Call or text at least 24 hours before delivery and we move the dates if units are open. Changes inside 24 hours follow the same fees as a late cancellation.
If someone damages it while we're not there, are we liable?
Normal wear is free. Fire, vandalism, graffiti, or tipping from misuse is billed at repair cost, and a lost or stolen unit at replacement value. The $9 damage waiver lowers that risk.
Can you text or email the quote so I can show the person paying?
Yes. Every quote goes out by text so you can forward it. In one batch of 50 calls we reviewed in 2026, 18 callers were not the person paying.
Can I put it under my business name?
Yes. Give us the business name on the call, and it goes on the quote and receipts. Contractors can apply for Net-30 terms.
