How many job site toilets does my Midland crew need?
A Midland crew needs at least 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers under OSHA Table D-1. Jack Rental Works recommends 1 standard unit for every 10 workers on a 40-hour week with weekly service. The OSHA number is the legal floor. The 1-per-10 number keeps the line short and the tank from overfilling before service day.
The federal construction rule is 29 CFR 1926.51(c). Its Table D-1 sets the minimum number of toilet facilities by crew size. Our recommendation sits beside it so you can see the gap.
| Workers on site | OSHA Table D-1 legal minimum | Our recommendation (weekly service) |
|---|---|---|
| 1–10 | 1 toilet | 1 standard unit |
| 11–20 | 1 toilet | 2 units, or 1 unit with twice-weekly service |
| 21–40 | 1 toilet seat + 1 urinal per 40 workers | 3–4 units |
| 41–80 | 1 toilet seat + 1 urinal per 40 workers (2 + 2) | 5–8 units |
| 81–199 | 1 toilet seat + 1 urinal per 40 workers | 1 unit per 10 workers |
| 200 or more | 1 toilet seat + 1 urinal per 50 workers | 1 unit per 10 workers; ask about twice-weekly service |
Why do we suggest more than the law asks? A standard unit holds 60 gallons. The manufacturer rates it at about 200 uses between services. Ten workers using one unit two or three times a day reach that number in about a week. For a deeper look at the rules, read our guide to OSHA porta potty requirements in Texas.

Does OSHA require a handwashing station on a construction site?
OSHA 1926.51(f) requires washing facilities when crews apply paint, coatings, herbicides or insecticides, or work with other harmful contaminants. Those facilities must be near the work. A 2-sink hand-washing station holds about 36 gallons of fresh water and serves about 400 hand washes per fill. Many Midland builders add 1 station where crews eat lunch.
Sanitizer comes in every standard unit. Sanitizer does not remove paint, stucco, drywall mud or pipe dope. Soap and water does.
- Painters, stucco and texture crews: plan a station near the work.
- Landscape crews spraying weed killer: plan a station by the truck parking.
- Lunch spot on site: a station there cuts down on sick days.
- Freezing weeks (below 28°F overnight): we may swap the station for sanitizer dispensers so the water does not freeze.
Hand-washing stations start at $125 per 28-day cycle, pre-tax. See the specs on our hand washing station rental page.
What happens on weekly service day at a job site?
Weekly service happens once every 7 days on every 28-day job site rental, at no extra charge. Our tech pumps the tank, scrubs the inside, sanitizes surfaces, adds a fresh deodorizer charge and restocks at least 2 rolls of paper. The tech then leaves a dated service tag on the door so your superintendent can check it.
- Pump. The tech empties the 60-gallon waste tank with our own truck. Waste goes to a permitted disposal facility.
- Pressure-wash and scrub. Walls, floor, seat and urinal get washed down.
- Sanitize. Touch points like the latch, seat and dispensers get sanitized.
- Recharge. A fresh blue deodorizer charge goes into the tank.
- Restock. Toilet paper (2+ rolls) and hand sanitizer get refilled.
- Check. The door, latch and stakes get checked for wind and wear.
- Tag. A dated service tag goes on the door for your records.
Midland summers run 95–105°F from June to August. Heat speeds up odor. For crews of 10 or more in summer, we suggest twice-weekly service for +$60 per cycle per unit. Read more in our post on porta potties in West Texas wind and heat.

Where should a porta potty go on a construction lot?
A porta potty on a construction lot should sit on level ground with a clear lane for our service truck. The spot needs about 5 feet of clear path for setting the unit. Keep the unit out of the dumpster path, concrete truck route and material drop zone. Mark the spot with a cone, flag or chalk X.
Truck access
Our tech parks close to pump the tank each week. Do not set the unit behind a stack of lumber or a locked fence the truck can't reach.
Level pad
Set the unit on flat dirt, caliche or a slab edge. A tilted unit rocks, leaks and is more likely to tip in spring wind.
Away from the dumpster path
Roll-off trucks swing wide. Keep the toilet out of that swing so it doesn't get clipped or blocked on service day.
Door away from afternoon sun
Facing the door east or north keeps the inside cooler on hot afternoons. That helps with odor too.
Midland spring gusts often top 40 mph in March and April. Every unit we set is staked or strapped. Tell us if the lot is fully open to the wind. You do not need to be on site at drop-off if the spot is marked or you text us a photo or pin.

Can I put a job site toilet in an HOA or new-build subdivision?
A job site toilet can usually sit on a private lot in a Midland subdivision with no City permit. Many HOAs limit how long a unit can sit in plain view. Place the unit beside the garage or behind a fence when you can. Street, alley or sidewalk placement generally needs City of Midland approval first.
New-build areas like Westridge and the Loop 250 West lots see a lot of builders sharing streets. A few habits keep neighbors and HOA boards calm:
- Set the unit on the lot, not the curb, unless the City has approved street placement.
- Turn the door away from the house next door.
- Ask for a free combination lock if the lot sits empty on weekends.
- Move the unit lot to lot as framing finishes; text us the next pin.
Check street rules with the City of Midland before you place anything in the right-of-way. For remodels inside town, our Midland delivery page lists the neighborhoods we cover.
How does 28-day billing work for a construction rental?
Construction rentals bill every 28 days, not by calendar month. A standard porta potty starts at $155 per 28-day cycle, pre-tax, with weekly service included. Delivery and pickup is a one-time $65 in the Midland–Odessa metro and $95 in Zone 2. The rental renews on its own until you call or text for pickup.
| Job site item | Starting at, pre-tax |
|---|---|
| Standard porta potty (weekly service) | $155 per 28-day cycle |
| Hand-washing station (2-sink) | $125 per 28-day cycle |
| Wheelchair-accessible unit | $215 per 28-day cycle |
| Deluxe flushing unit with sink | $245 per 28-day cycle |
| Twice-weekly service | +$60 per cycle per unit |
| Extra service visit | $65 per unit per visit |
| Optional damage waiver | $9 per unit per cycle |
| Delivery & pickup, Zone 1 / Zone 2 | $65 / $95 one time |
Texas sales tax of 8.25% is added on the itemized quote. There is no fuel surcharge and no card fee. After the first full cycle, billing is prorated by the day once you request pickup. The full breakdown of cycles is on our long-term porta potty rental page.
Who rents construction porta potties from us?
Builders, remodelers and commercial contractors made up 21 of the 100 recorded rental calls our team reviewed in 2026. That is about 1 call in 5. Most of those callers wanted 3 things: a clear crew-size rule, weekly service they don't have to chase, and a quote they can forward to the office.
Home builders
One unit per house or one shared unit for 2–3 lots in a subdivision, moved as phases finish.
Remodelers
A single unit by the driveway keeps crews out of the homeowner's bathroom during a kitchen or bath job.
Commercial sites
Rows of units plus handwash stations, sized to crew counts that change week to week.

More questions about Construction Porta Potty Rental in Midland, TX
How many porta potties do I need for my crew? What does OSHA require?
OSHA Table D-1 requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers and 1 seat plus 1 urinal per 40 workers above that. We recommend 1 unit per 10 workers on a 40-hour week with weekly service. A crew of 15 should have 2 units, or 1 unit with twice-weekly service. Confirm with your safety manager; this is not legal advice.
Does a job-site unit cost more than one for a home remodel?
No. A standard porta potty costs the same on a job site or at a home remodel: starting at $155 per 28-day cycle, pre-tax, with weekly service included. Delivery and pickup is a one-time $65 in the Midland and Odessa metro. Only the unit type, zone and service frequency change the price.
Can I put it under my business name and get invoiced?
Yes. We bill the rental to your company name. The first 28-day cycle is paid at delivery by card or ACH, then billing repeats every 28 days. Contractors can apply for a Net-30 account, and after approval we invoice instead of charging a card. There is no deposit.
I'm still bidding the job. Can you quote now and book if we win?
Yes. Text or email the site address, crew size and expected length, and Jack sends an itemized quote you can attach to your bid. Quotes go out within about 15 minutes by text during business hours. When you win, call and we set the drop date.
Can you move the toilet when we move to the next house in the subdivision?
Yes. Tell us the new lot and we move the unit on a route day. Builders in new subdivisions often hop a unit from lot to lot as framing finishes. Text us a pin or a photo of the new spot so the driver sets it on level ground with truck access.
Can I add an accessible unit mid-job if an inspector asks?
Yes. Call or text and we add a wheelchair-accessible unit designed to ADA dimensions, starting at $215 per 28-day cycle, pre-tax. It has a 60-inch turning space and ground-level floor. It has no sink inside, so pair it with a hand-washing station if your site needs one.
Can we skip weekly cleaning and only pay when we call?
No. Weekly service is built into every 28-day rental because a job site unit fills fast and smells in West Texas heat. You can add service, though. An extra visit is $65 per unit, and twice-weekly service adds $60 per cycle per unit.
